God is still in control, and no wicked ruler can escape His judgment. As believers, we must trust in God’s plan, pray for our leaders, and stand for righteousness even in difficult times.

What does the Bible say about Wicked Government
The Bible speaks clearly about wicked rulers and governments that oppress people, act unfairly, and refuse to follow God’s ways. Throughout history, there have been leaders who abuse their power, take advantage of the weak, and ignore justice. The Bible warns about such rulers and reminds us that God is in control, even when the government is evil.
Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” This means that good leaders bring joy, but wicked rulers bring suffering. When leaders do not fear God, they create unfair laws, oppress the poor, and seek their own gain instead of serving the people.
Many prophets in the Bible spoke against wicked rulers. Isaiah 10:1-2 warns, “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people.” God hates when leaders take advantage of the weak. He will bring judgment on those who govern unfairly.
In the book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar was a proud and wicked king. He thought he was greater than God, but God humbled him. Daniel 4:37 says, “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.” This shows that no ruler is greater than God. Even the most powerful government must answer to Him.
Jesus also spoke about leaders who use their power wrongly. In Matthew 20:25, He said, “The rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.” But Jesus taught that true leadership is about serving others, not controlling them.
Wicked governments may seem strong, but they will not last forever. Psalm 37:35-36 says, “I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree. Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more.” God’s justice will come in His time.
As Christians, we are called to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-2), trust in God’s plan, and stand for righteousness. Even when governments are wicked, God remains in control. One day, He will establish His perfect kingdom where justice will reign forever.
